Executive Director
Nicole Wong

Lawyer, specialist in diplomacy and foreign policy affairs. She played a fundamental role in the establishment of diplomatic relations between the People's Republic of China and the Republic of Panama, having carried out negotiations with the Chinese government from the beginning and reaching a successful consensus in June 2017
.

She served the country as General Director of Foreign Policy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 2016 to 2019, having under her responsibility the promotion, protection and preservation of national interests.

She had a relevant role in the articulation of a new policy of active approach of Panama with Asia, Africa and the Middle East, promoting the opening of new Panamanian embassies in Jordan, China, Australia and Ethiopia.

From 2014 to 2016, she served as Head of Office of the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, where she was part of the general coordination team for the Summit of the Americas and the Expansion of the Panama Canal.

Prior to her experience in the public sector, Nicole worked at The Bank of Nova Scotia and at the law firms Arrocha & Co. and Morgan & Morgan where she handled mortgage, corporate, maritime and immigration matters. Currently, she is an independent consultant focused on reducing the cultural gap between Asia and Latin America and thus promoting more efficient business between both parties.
